It is formed mainly from aluminum,  natrium, calcite, sulphur,  and minute crystals of pyrite. Its hardness on the Mohs scale is 5-5.5 and it is characterized by the Isometric crystal system. Lapis Lazuli can be found in a few countries, including Afghanistan, Egypt and Chile. Pyrite The word “pyrite” is taken from the Greek word «πυρ» meaning Fire. That name was given to the mineral, as Pyrite was used to spark flames to light fires. As for its chemical composition, Pyrite is an Iron Sulphide, which cristallises in the cubic formation. Its hardness on the Mohs scale is 6-6.5.
