It is a living organism and is considered to be a precious stone of the sea. Coral is actually groups of many polyps of marine invertebrates. These polyps live in colonies which at birth, joins up with the rest of the skeletal  mass forming an unbroken body. This skeleton is formed from Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3). Coral is measured at 3.5 on the Mohs scale, and is more commonly found in white, beige, pink and red colours.   STONE PROPERTIES Coral is known as a great protection stone, as it guards against the evil eye and rids the aura of negative energy and emotions. It is considered to bring good luck, and repels fears, anxiety and depression.
