These earrings are made with datolite, a borosilicate mineral. It usually comes in the form of crystals, and the only place in the world where datolite forms in porcelain, cauliflower-like solid nodules is the copper ore regions of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The most common datolite color is white, but it can occur in a range of pastel colors influenced by metals. “Lakers” are the oldest agate on the planet. Laker agates differ from other agates found around the world in its rich red, orange, and yellow coloring.
